Simple Khichdi for babies

Simple Khichdi, one of the simple and complete meals for growing babies.It is good one-pot recipe combination of carbohydrates and protein.

Easy, quick, one pot wholesome anytime comforting meal made with the pressure cooker.It is nutritious not only for babies but also when an adult is sick.It is easy for digestion.

We can make a variety of Khichdi by adding many vegetables to it like tomato, green peas, carrot, onion and little spices.

Homemade Simple khichadi is a very healthy option for growing babies with carbohydrates and proteins.

Prep Time:10 minutes

1/2 cup rice
1/4 cup moon dal
1 tsp hing
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp ghee
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
coriander leaves to garnish

1.Heat a pressure cooker with ghee.
2. Add hing and cumin seeds. Let it crackle.
3.Then add washed rice and washed moong dal. Saute them nicely for few seconds.
4.Add turmeric powder and salt.
5.Add 1 1/2 cup of water and close the lid.
6.Pressure cook this for 3-4 whistles, till everything is well- cooked.
7.Mash khichdi lightly with a spoon.Serve it with a little ghee and coriander leaves on top.
