Carrot Khichdi

Khichdi recipe for babies - it is very healthy and nourishing food for babies.It is a good combination of lentils and dal with vegetable.

Vegetable like carrot, Spinach, green peas, tomato can be added to this khichdi to make another flavor rice.It also helps in digestion of lentils in babies.

If your baby is 6-9 months, you can mash this khichdi and then feed.For toddler age or more grown baby, they can have khichdi in normal cooked texture.

It is better to have less dal to avoid acid reflux in babies.

Prep Time:10 minutes

4 tbsp rice
1 tbsp moong dal
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp Hing/asafetida
2 tbsp finely chopped carrot cubes
1 tsp ghee/butter

1.Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
2.Add cumin seeds and asafetida.
3.Add carrot cubes, rice, and moong dal.
4.Add 1 cup water and a little salt.
5.Cook Khichdi till 3 whistles and serve lukewarm
